How to change an active release (Takedowns & Edits)

Can I edit my song or cover art after it goes live?

Once a release is delivered and live in stores, making changes can be difficult depending on the platform.

  • Metadata Edits (Titles, Artist Names): Can usually be updated without removing the song. Submit an update request through your portal. Updates take 3–7 days to reflect in stores.
  • Audio or Artwork Changes: Most major stores do not allow you to swap out the audio file or cover art of an existing live release. To change these, you will need to issue a Takedown request, wait for the release to be deleted, and then re-upload it as a new release.
